With over 50 years' experience, Me Jacques Prévost joined the Bessette Avocats inc. team in 2026. Mr. Prévost is recognized as one of the most experienced and respected lawyers in the fields of disciplinary law, professional law and ethics in Quebec. His exceptional background, combined with in-depth experience of disciplinary mechanisms, makes him a sought-after strategic ally for professional orders, investigative committees and public institutions.

In 1972, Mr. Prévost obtained his law degree from the Université de Montréal. Admitted to the Bar in 1974, Mr. Prévost has worked with some of Quebec's leading professional orders as legal counsel and syndics' attorney for over five decades, during which time he has developed leading-edge expertise in professional medical ethics. Since 1988, he has been a partner with the law firm Pouliot, Caron, Prévost, Bélisle, Galarneau, LLP.

With each mandate, Mr. Prévost puts forward a rigorous, strategic approach focused on a thorough understanding of human and organizational issues. To this end, Mr. Prévost has pleaded on numerous occasions before professional disciplinary bodies, as well as the highest courts, including the Quebec Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

A sought-after speaker, Mr. Prévost has actively contributed to the training of professionals: trustees, executives of various professional orders and lawyers.

His practical presentations, based on his expertise in the field, cover crucial topics such as full answer and defence, rules of evidence, management of disciplinary complaints, syndic's investigations and the impact of legislative reforms.
